The interior of the Cottage

 

The cottage has recently been substantially redecorated and mostly newly furnished.

There is a traditional open wood fireplace in the lounge for relaxing evenings by the fire. Wood is supplied free of charge for guests' use.

General Heating, which is also available if required, is from a modern oil fired furnace in the basement, which takes care of all of your heating needs. Hot water is supplied from a separate oil fired hot water heater.

The Den

The Den, which is situated between the kitchen and the lounge has a settee, multimedia cabinet with CDs, a book case with a selection of books and a telephone and answer machine. Free local calls and long distance calls using a calling card, may be made. We can also let you have a telephone number which will enable your friends and family to call the cottage from the U.K. for 3 pence per minute.

Bedrooms

There are three bedrooms upstairs, two rooms with double beds and clock radio alarms and the third bedroom is equipped with two single pine beds. Each of the bedrooms also has a pine dressing table and a wardrobe or plenty of clothes hanging space. Two bedrooms have views over the lake and the third has a view over the garden and extensive countryside beyond.

Fresh bed linen and pillows will be supplied for your stay.

There is a telephone point in each of  the bedrooms, a telephone in two of them (see above re outgoing calls) and internet access can be obtained quite cheaply from www.tartan.net

The house can sleep 6 and the dining room table seats 6. There is also a small breakfast table and two chairs in the kitchen. 

Upstairs Bathroom

The newly refurbished bathroom has a bath with a shower unit controlled by a mixer control. It also has built in cupboards. Fresh towels, face flannels, toilet tissue and soap are supplied for use in the bathroom, but you will need your own towels for beach and lake use.

Dining Room

This is a bright room with an oval table, 6 chairs, a hostess trolley with wine rack, and a book case with a selection of books and leaflets giving details of local attractions and a Canadiana (a Canadian Encyclopaedia). Most importantly, it has breathtaking views over the lake which you can enjoy while you eat your meals.
