Eating out



The interior of the Cottage

The cottage is clean and comfortable with modern appliances. It has a traditional open wood fireplace in the lounge and although heating is not needed in summer, wood is supplied free of charge for guests' use.

Hot water is supplied from a separate oil fired hot water heater.

Kitchen and Utility Room


A traditional wood panelled kitchen with :-

         Electric Cooker (Range)

         Full Size Fridge Freezer

         Toaster Oven

         Electric Kettle

         Deep fryer

         Coffee machine

         Casserole dishes and frying pans

         Plenty of Saucepans

         Plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, mixing bowls, storage jars and containers and all regular cooking utensils

         A hairdryer (110 volt) is also supplied.

The adjoining utility room, has full laundry facilities :-

it also gives access to an additional downstairs bathroom (wc or restroom) with hand basin and cabinet .



The lounge, which features :-

         a wood burning fire place with wood provided

         seating for six and a footstool

         an internet TV with Netflix

         a video cassette recorder (videos and DVDs can be hired locally)

         a stereo system with an AM/FM digital tuner, dual cassette decks and an auxiliary input for your portable mini disk or MP3 player.

         Satellite Television receiver

         A DVD and CD player

         a coffee table

Dining Room

This is a bright room with an oval table, 6 chairs, a hostess trolley with wine rack, and a book case with a selection of books and leaflets giving details of local attractions and a Canadiana (a Canadian Encyclopaedia). Most importantly, it has wonderful elevated views over the lake which you can enjoy while you eat your meals.

The Den

The Den, which is situated between the kitchen and the lounge has a settee, multimedia cabinet with CDs, DVDs, Video cassettes, a book case with a large selection of books and a telephone, computer desk and answer machine. Free local calls and long distance calls using a calling card, may be made.



There are three bedrooms upstairs, two double rooms, one with a queen sized bed and another with a double bed. Both have clock radio alarms. The third bedroom is equipped with a single pine bed, a bunk bed and a baby's cot. Each of the bedrooms also has a pine dressing table and a wardrobe or plenty of clothes hanging space. Two bedrooms have views over the lake and the third has a view over the garden and extensive countryside beyond.

Fresh bed linen and pillows will be supplied for your stay.

There is a telephone point in each of  the bedrooms and a telephone in two of them.

The house can sleep 6 and the dining room table seats 6. There is also a small breakfast table and two chairs in the kitchen. 

Upstairs Bathroom

The modern equipped bathroom has a bath and a shower unit with good strong pressure. It also has built in cupboards. Fresh towels, face flannels, toilet tissue and soap are supplied for use in the bathroom, but you will need your own towels for beach and lake use. 

The  cottage has been inspected by the Municipality of Digby and the Nova Scotia Tourist Board, who have licensed the accommodation.
